THE FORMATION
The Smile Asia alliance was established to move beyond the traditional hub-and-spoke model of international aid delivery, adopting a more decentralised and collaborative approach. This model prioritises cooperation, shared learning and local ownership.
The following are the Member Charities of the alliance. We remain committed to growing our network and welcome more like-minded charities to join us as we continue expanding our collective impact.
Since 2003, Smile Cambodia has worked to support the cleft community in Cambodia, establishing a centre in Phnom Penh in 2014 to better serve patients and families.
Future Smile Charitable Foundation began its operations in 2002. Since then, it has supported individuals from a wide range of distressed and underserved groups.
Established in 1991, Beam International Foundation provides free surgery to children with cleft lip and palate in China. They also offer training for medical professionals in China.
Established in 2002, Mission Smile is a medical charitable trust, providing medical evaluations, surgeries, and comprehensive care for cleft patients across India.
Smile Japan was established in 2023. They are dedicated to improving healthcare access by dispatching medical professionals from Japan to medical activities across Asia.
Cleft Lip and Palate Association Malaysia (CLAPAM) was established in 1992 and is the only nationwide organisation in Malaysia on matters related to cleft.
Since 2008, The Smile Mission has supported medical missions and care centres across Asia while fostering a spirit of volunteerism and service among Singapore residents.
Founded in 1994, Bright Faces is a U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) charity that serves cleft lip and palate patients in medically-inaccessible regions through programme partners.
