NEHA SMILES AGAIN

GUWAHATI, INDIA | SEPTEMBER 2022

Supported by the Assam Government, National Health Mission, and Tata Trusts, the Guwahati Comprehensive Cleft Care Centre (GC4) was set up in 2011. It is managed by Mission Smile – a Smile Asia founding member charity representing India. The Centre has since delivered over 22,000 surgeries.

This is the story of a family whose daughter was born with a cleft and eventually received successful treatment at the Centre. See how simple acts of surgery, compassion, and care open doors – to new laughter, new confidence, and new beginnings.

Many children born with cleft conditions grow up in communities where myths or stigma prevent them from feeling accepted. But as you will see in the video, restoration is possible–and it can ripple outward: improving speech, boosting confidence, helping children return to school, and allowing families to dream again.
